An old residential area in Hollister constantly inundated with floods is now a kayak park for the Public. Named Hulland Park, it opened on Thursday, September 5th.
All the homeowners have moved out of the area, with the exception of one who uses his house as a vacation home.
The park is six acres and offers picnicking, fishing, and kayaking. It was designed to be ideal for Kayaking, since navigating will be easier without large boat wakes.
It cost around 30,000 dollars to make and will be available for general use as long as water levels remain normal.
