(KTTS News) — Evangel University will present its annual Christmas concert Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel on the Evangel campus.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

The concert will feature Christmas songs ranging from classical to traditional such as the Evangel University Chorus’ presentation of “Silent Night,” a Pentatonix arrangement of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” by Voices of EU, University Band’s lively piece “Ukrainian Bell Carol,” and Handel’s majestic “Hallelujah” chorus.

Tickets are not required.

The cost of admission is a non-perishable food item and/or a monetary donation to benefit the Salvation Army.

The event will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

The Evangel University Music Department will present its 39th annual Christmas concert on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel on Evangel’s campus. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

The community is invited to attend, and the cost of admission is a non-perishable food item and/or a monetary donation to benefit the Salvation Army at the door. No tickets are necessary.

More than 200 musicians will be performing in vocal and instrumental ensembles, including the Evangel University Chorus, Voices of EU student-led a capella group, Men’s Vocal Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo,  Evangel University Orchestra and Band, Women’s Chamber Ensemble, and University Chorale.

The concert will feature Christmas songs ranging from classical to traditional such as the Evangel University Chorus’ presentation of “Silent Night,” a Pentatonix arrangement of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” by Voices of EU, University Band’s lively piece “Ukrainian Bell Carol,” and Handel’s majestic “Hallelujah” chorus.

“Our annual Christmas Concert is both a gift to the community at large and a tangible way to assist the Salvation Army as they bless our neighbors,” said Dr. Tom Matrone, Evangel’s Music Department chair.

The Salvation Army’s nationwide campaign enables them to provide food, toys, and clothing to more than six million people during the Christmas season.

The event will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
