(KTTS News) — The Greene County Assessor’s Office is warning people to be on the lookout for people posing as members of the Assessor’s office.
In some cases, they have tried to get inside people’s homes.
The Assessor’s office says it will only access the outside of properties and will never ask to enter a home without an appointment.
Employees will have official credentials and will drive clearly marked official vehicles.

The Greene County Assessor’s Office has been made aware of individuals posing as members of the Assessor’s staff, and in some cases asking and/or attempting to gain false
entry into homes.
Greene County Assessor Brent Johnson wants to caution property owners that his field staff will never ask to enter your home without a scheduled appointment in
advance.
The Assessor’s staff will only access the exterior of properties per RSMo:137.130 unless the property owner has contacted the office for an interior inspection in advance.
Assessor employees will be displaying official Greene County credentials and driving clearly marked official vehicles.
