(KTTS News) — The suspect in an officer-involved shooting Thursday night in Laurie has died.
The Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Brian G. Mummert was from Sunrise Beach.
Police were responding to an assault near Highway O and Park Place.
An officer approached Mummert on the porch of a home and noticed he had a gun.
KY3 says the officer asked him to comply, but Mummert pulled his gun and the officer shot him.
He died at the scene.
The officer was not hurt.

(KTTS News) — The Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Laurie, along the Morgan and Camden County line.
It happened last night around 7:30 p.m. near Highway O and Park Place.
The officer is ok.
No word yet on the suspect.
