(KTTS News) — Springfield Police say a woman who was hurt after her SUV hit a house on July 1 has died.

Naomi Murray from Springfield was 80.

Police say she drove through the intersection of Downing and Fremont, hit a utility pole, and then a house.

She died on July 6.

Naomi Murray, 80, from Springfield, died on July 6, 2022, as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on July 1, 2022.

The Springfield Police Department was notified yesterday by the medical examiner.

Murray’s family has also been notified.

On July 1, 2022, at 1:39 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Downing and Fremont.

A 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling at low speed northbound on Fremont through the intersection at Sunset.

The Tiguan turned sharply to the left and rapidly accelerated, running off the left side of the roadway and into a utility pole.

The collision with the utility pole caused the vehicle to overturn and hit a house at 1352 E. Downing where it came to rest. No one in the house was injured.

Murray, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries on July 6, 2022.

Officers with the department’s Traffic Section are continuing to investigate the circumstances involved in the crash and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.

This was the 12th fatal motor vehicle crash in Springfield in 2022.
