Dry Snowfall Just Enough To Cause Traffic Problems

At least an inch of snow fell in Springfield Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service says most of the Ozarks got an inch or less, but there were some heavier pockets of one to two inches reported.

People in Ava and Camdenton reported 1.5 inches of snow.

What did fall was enough to cause problems.

Crashes and slide offs were reported around the Springfield metro area.

A jackknifed tractor-trailer blocked part of I-44 at the 143 mile marker for a time.

Most of the main roads are ok, but the side roads will continue to be a problem.

Several schools — including Springfield — cancelled classes for the day.
