Springfield’s Christmas tree is on display at Park Central Square.
Crews from the public works department installed the 25 to 30-foot tall blue spruce this morning.
It was hauled in on a flat-bed truck and lifted into place.
The mayor’s tree lighting ceremony is Saturday night starting at 6 p.m.

Aren’t you glad you don’t have to do this for your tree at home? That’s a heavy duty tree stand! pic.twitter.com/eLNfXVw4qp

The hook flying away from the tree means the tree is now set. Don’t miss the Mayor’s tree lighting ceremony this Saturday, November 20. The fun begins at 6 PM on the Square! https://t.co/JgarmWeRt4 pic.twitter.com/gK4nphLMra
