A man from Springfield has died after a shooting Friday at a Springfield convenience store.

On Aug. 13, 2021, at approximately 2:06 p.m., the Springfield Police Department was dispatched to the Conoco Village Mart at 2720 W. Kearney after a 911 caller said someone had been shot. When officers arrived, they located a male who had suffered a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim is 49-year-old Jason E. Masters from Springfield, MO. Notifications have been made to Mr. Masters’ family.
A suspect has not been identified at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
This incident marks the 15th homicide for 2021.
