The city of Nixa has received a petition trying to recall the city’s mayor, Brian Steele.
The main reason for the petition is because the Mayor enacted the city’s facemask mandate.
If enough signatures are verified the issue will go to a special election.
City officials say running that special election could cost city taxpayers up to $15,000.
