The Springfield School District says a middle school teacher embroiled in a viral video controversy is no longer employed by the district.
On the last day of school, a student recorded the teacher at Pershing Middle School handing out cupcakes celebrating the upcoming LGBTQ month.
In the video, the teacher calls the student a “dipstick”, “weasel” and a “straight jerk”.
The district says an investigation began immediately after becoming aware of the incident.
