The National Weather Service says the weather will be uneventful Saturday until late at night, when we will see a chance of severe weather coming from the west.
Springfield Meteorologists expect scattered showers with some thunder and lighting in the morning Saturday.
“We are expecting something we call a cap, which a warm layer of air aloft that limits storm activity for a period of time.” Says Meteorologist Drew Albert, “It will prevent storm activity for most of the area Saturday afternoon.”
Late after midnight we could see a chance of severe weather as storms move in over the Kansas-Missouri border. The biggest threat from these storms are strong winds.
