Original Story:

Snow has been coming down across the Ozarks this morning.

The National Weather Service reported another 2.4 inches of snow about 5:30 a.m.

That’s on top of the five inches that fell earlier this week.

A weather spotter reported 2.6 inches of snow in Willard, and 3.3 inches fell in Taney County.

And 3.5 inches was reported in Joplin.

Another 2.5 inches fell in Flemington in northern Polk County, with 9 inches on the ground.

A weather spotter in Verona reported 3.9 inches today, with 7 inches on the ground.

The good news is the snow should start to taper off this morning in Springfield and end across the area by later this afternoon and evening as it moves off to the east.

There’s no more snow in the forecast tonight.

Temps will be in the 40s by the weekend.

There is another chance for rain and flurries on Sunday.
