BREAKING: The Southwest Power Pool has lifted the need for mandatory rolling blackouts across the region.
Springfield City Utilities started the blackouts around 7:30 Tuesday morning.
The order was lifted around 10 a.m.
Liberty Utilities did rolling blackouts for a time, too.

City Utilities and other utilities across the Midwest have been forced to institute rolling blackouts to keep up with the demands on the power system.
CU says its trying to keep the blackouts to an hour or less.
Springfield has never had to do rolling blackouts.
Monday was the first day ever.
