A man from Ash Grove is dead after a crash on Highway 174 east of Mt. Vernon.

The Highway Patrol says Matthew Vermillion died when his pickup crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle head-on.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Vermillion was 27.
