The Missouri State Highway Patrol is holding its 14th annual Sampietro Toy Drive until December 20th.
The Toy Drive is in cooperation with Krispy Kreme Donuts, and anyone who donates a toy valued at $10 or more will receive a free dozen donuts.
You can drop off the toys at the following locations:
- Cox South, West Tower Entrance ¯ 3801 S. National Ave, Springfield, MO
- MSHP Troop D Headquarters ¯ 3131 E. Kearney Street, Springfield, MO
- Springfield Krispy Kreme Doughnuts ¯ 3860 S. Campbell Avenue, Springfield, MO
The toy drive is in honor of Corporal John “Jay” Sampietro, who died in the line of duty in 2005.
An earlier version of this story referred to Corporal Sampietro as “John.” This has been changed to “Jay” as that was how he was known among his colleagues and friends.
