Flames shot through the roof of a home early Tuesday morning in the 3200 block of west Crestview Street in Springfield.
The fire department says four people and some pets were inside the house when the flames broke out, but managed to escape unharmed.
Those flames were shooting through the roof when crews arrived on the scene, and there’s structural damage to the back side of the home and a hole on the roof.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
