Police say an 18-year-old man is charged with entering a woman’s apartment in Springfield in early September late at night, taking off his clothes, and getting into bed with her while she slept.
Prosecutors say Gabriel Morales proceeded to rub his genitals on the woman and tried to take off her pants.
The woman woke up and yelled at Morales to leave her apartment. Morales allegedly said “Ok. Ok I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. Have a nice night.”
Morales left, entered three other apartments, and was later arrested by authorities.
Police believe he entered the secure apartment complex by waiting until one of the tenants left, and then letting himself in before the door closed.
He is charged with burglary, sexual abuse, and sexual misconduct. The burglary charge is the most serious charge Morales faces.
Morales is a suspect in several other burglaries.
