City Council Wants to Hear from Citizens on Crime, Police, and Race Relations

UPDATE: Monday, October 26th’s meeting has been canceled due to low turnout.

The city says the two people who have signed up have been rescheduled to November 9, or 23 sessions.

Springfield City Council is looking to hear from citizens on crime, community race relations, and policing.

The in-person sessions will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Parkview High School Auditorium, on 516 W. Meadowmere. In addition and November 9th and 23rd, at Drury University Wilhoit Theater.

A scientific survey on the same topics is being commissioned, but the city council says it wants to hear directly from citizens in the meantime.
