ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in St. Louis are investigating a shooting at an apartment that injured an 11-year-old girl. Police say the shooting happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday in the city’s Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood, injuring the girl in one of her arms.
Police did not release other details on the shooting, but television station KMOV reports that a neighbor said she heard dozens of gunshots.
Police investigators were seen combing an alleyway and street outside the apartment for evidence, and police towed away a car that crashed near the shooting scene. St Louis has seen a surge of gun violence involving children in the last year.
