Springfield Public Schools Considering Changes To Learning In Second Quarter

Springfield Public Schools is considering changes to learning for the second quarter of the school year.

An official plan will be announced the week of Oct. 12.

The district says potential adjustments include the move to five days of in-person learning for students from Pre-K through 8th grade between late October and early November.

Students from 9th through 12th grade will not make that move due to a higher rate of COVID-19 cases according to the district.

Students who are learning five days a week online will continue without changes.

The district has reported less than 200 cases of COVID-19 since the school year began in late August but that’s resulted in over 1,200 students and staff having to quarantine.
