The coronavirus pandemic has cut the number of travelers at the Springfield-Branson National Airport by 50-percent.
The number of flyers dropped 66-percent in June compared with the same time last year.
A spokesman tells KY3 the airport could be forced to make some layoffs if the drop in traffic continues.
The airport received more than $9 million dollars in federal aid at the start of the pandemic.
It includes a stipulation that there be no layoffs until at least December.
