Community Blood Center Movie Mania Drive to be Held Wednesday and Thursday

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is holding a movie mania blood drive on Wednesday and Thursday.

Donors will receive a free FandangoNOW movie pass which will allow them to watch a recently released movie at home.

The event will be at the Community Blood Center on Plainview in Springfield and donation times are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Community Blood Center press release can be read below.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood and blood products to over forty area hospitals, is giving blood donors the opportunity to catch some great gifts just before the 4th of July holiday during the Movie Mania Blood Drive. The drive will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 & 2, at CBCO’s Springfield Donor Center on south Campbell at Plainview Road. Donation times are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.

Donors that give during the Movie Mania Blood Drive will receive a FandangoNOW movie pass, which allows you to watch a first run movie from the comfort of your own home. Donors will also receive a CBCO throwback T-shirt and a five-dollar gift card redeemable in the LifePoints online store.

Appointments are strongly encouraged for this drive to achieve an optimal donation experience. To make that appointment, go to www.cbco.org/moviemania.

“This is an important drive as we head into a long holiday weekend,” CBCO Media Relations Representative Chris Pilgrim said. “An areawide critical blood shortage continues, with most blood types at lower than normal levels due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We love rewarding our loyal donors with gifts but want to remind everybody that the greatest gift coming out of this is the gift of blood to help heal area patients.”

The Movie Mania promotion is only available at CBCO Donor Centers.

CBCO wishes to thank the thousands of blood donors, volunteers and advocates that are directly responsible for saving local lives every day. Thank you for giving life to your community.
