Christian County COVID-19 Count Up To 35

Health officials in Christian County say they now have 31 confirmed and four probable cases of COVID-19 in the county.

The health department is currently monitoring five active cases, and to date, there have been no deaths in relation to the coronavirus in the county.

Investigators have not been able to link the latest confirmed case of COVID-19 to any other previous case, but the person who tested positive did travel to another part of the state prior to developing symptoms.

While there’s a chance this is a travel-related case, health officials say there’s also the potential it was community spread.

The risk of transmission to the general public from the latest case is considered low at this time.

The health department continues to encourage the community to practice social distancing to lower the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

Face coverings are recommended as an additional layer of protection, especially during times when you have to be within six feet of someone.
