Security cameras show a man vandalizing and stealing from the American Legion Post 639 off Scenic in Springfield.
The location had been closed for weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic and county-wide stay-at-home order.
American Legion Post 639, Vice Commander Justin Adamson tell KY3 News, when he showed up to prepare the location for reopening, he found a mess.
Adamson checked the security camera video footage and saw a man who appeared to be vandalizing some property, describing the man as bald, mid-twenties, lots of tattoos and he wasn’t wearing a shirt.
Adamson said that a couple hundred dollars worth stuff was stolen.
The American Legion says the suspect turned water on that ran for over nine hours.
Police found traces of the suspects blood on the outside of a shed when the suspect was trying to break in.
Adamson says the legion was still able to open today.
