The City of Nixaa says over 4,500 people went without power this morning for a short time after a squirrel caused the power outage.
A spokesperson for the city says around 9:15 a.m. a squirrel got on top of the large transformer at the Nixa Utilities Espy substation, causing a safety mechanism to trip and cut power.
Power was restored by 9:45am.
