(AP) — The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal from Craig Wood, the man on death row for kidnapping and killing 10-year-old Hailey Owens in Springfield back in 2014.
The high court declined to hear appeals from Wood and Nikko Jenkins, who’s on death row in Nebraska.
The inmates wanted the court to decide whether juries must find all facts necessary to impose a death sentence or whether judges can play a role.
The court didn’t comment in turning away the cases.
