Christian County Health Leaders Encouraged By COVID-19 Numbers

The number of COVID-19 cases in Christian County is holding steady at 18, with 12 of those people having already recovered from the virus.

The health director, Cindy Bilyeu, says including close contacts of patients, the county is down to monitoring 13 people, and she says that’s very encouraging for a county that large.

“We firmly believe that social distancing and good handwashing etiquette has helped keep our case count down thus far,” Bilyeu said. “Governor Parson stated in his press conference (today) that it is very possible we will start to see businesses start opening back up and employees going back to work during the first week in May.”

Bilyeu is encouraging folks in the county to do all they can while the stay at home order is still in effect to keep the county as healthy as possible.
