The search for a missing man at Lake Springfield ended Saturday after hours of searching.
The victim has been identified as Timmothy Richardson.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol report says Richardson was 30 years old and from Springfield.
Richardson died after his 8-foot kayak capsized, ejecting him.
His family has been notified.
The search began Saturday around 1 o’clock in the afternoon and his body was recovered shortly after, around 6 PM.
Springfield fire and police departments responded to a call for help from Richardson’s family after someone found his kayak half a mile downstream of the dam.
Investigators found his cell phone in the kayak and his vehicle in a parking lot near the dam.
This is Highway Patrol Troop D’s first fatality boat crash of the year.
