Nixa Updates Stay-At-Home Order to Conform to Statewide Order

The City of Nixa has updated their stay-at-home order. The changes listed below take effect midnight of the 8th.

A press release by the city is as follows:

Nixa, MO – Nixa Mayor Brian Steele has signed an updated stay-at-home order, bringing it into agreement with the statewide stay-at-home order on certain points, while maintaining the same stricter provisions already in place by order of the Mayor since March 26th. This order maintains consistency with the Springfield and Greene County stay-at-home orders to reduce confusion across jurisdictional lines.

The two updates are:

  1. Any essential business engaged in retail sales to the public shall limit the number of customers in any particular retail location at any one time to a maximum of:
    • The result of the total square feet of the building at the retail location divided by 30
      • Times twenty-five (25) percent for a retail location with square footage of less than ten thousand square feet (10,000 ft2)
      • Times ten (10) percent for a retail location with square footage of ten thousand square feet (10,000 ft2) or more.
  2. Firearm repair has been added to the list of essential businesses and, pursuant to RSMo Section 44.101, the order shall not be construed to prohibit or restrict the lawful possession, transfer, sale, transportation, storage, display, or use of firearms or ammunition during the declared state of emergency.

This amended order goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. on April 8, 2020 and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 24, 2020.
