The Dallas County Health Department has recorded its first positive case of COVID-19.

The case is being investigated to determine if it was travel-related or close contact acquired and the patient, a male is quarantined at home along with other members in household.

Dallas County Health Department staff are working to determine any close contacts of that individual who were possibly exposed. If there were any, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.

The director of the Dallas County Health Department says, “The best tips for prevention are still staying home, social distancing and proper hand washing. Staying home and avoiding close contact with others will help us limit any spread.”
