One person is dead after a house fire in Hollister.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 4 p.m. on Thursday, arriving to heavy smoke coming out of the house on Michael’s Street.
They removed the victim from the house, but were not able to save her.
The victim is identified as Betty Sisson. She was 79 years old.
Two dogs and a cat also died in the fire.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, it does not appear suspicious in nature.
This is the first fire fatality in the Western Taney County Fire district in two years.
