Governor Parson Names JQH Arena and Hammons Student Center As Possible Alternate Care Sites

Governor Parson names multiple possible alternative care sites amid the coronavirus crisis.

Two of those locations are in Springfield.

Hammons Student Center and JQH Arena will be considered as alternative sites.

The criteria for choosing these sites were:

  • Sites located in areas with deficient bed counts
  • Areas with spaces large enough for patient populations
  • and Areas where utilities are available to start immediate construction if necessary.

The other locations he named as potential sites are:

  • Hy-Vee Arena and Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Kansas City
  • The Dome at America’s Center (Formerly the Edward Jones Dome) in St. Louis
  • Missouri Southern State University Legget and Platt Arena in Joplin
  • The Show-Me Center in Cape Girardeau
  • Hearnes Arena in Columbia
