Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets across the country are observing new hours of operation in light of the COVID-19 scare.
Operating hours have been adjusted for the stores to be open from 6 AM to 11 PM.
A statement from the company states the new hours will go into effect Sunday, March 15 and last until further notice.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Dacona Smith, says the temporary hours will enable them to better support associates and serve customers.
Employees at grocery retailers are seeing items fly off the shelves as quickly as they can get shipments in, which you know if you’ve tried to purchase baby formula, dry pasta, wipes or toilet paper recently.
The change of operating hours will allow associates to stock products that are disappearing more rapidly than usual, as well as perform necessary cleaning and sanitizing.
