Mercy in Springfield Expands Visitor Restrictions

Until further notice, Mercy Hospitals within the Springfield community will be expanding restrictions on who can visit their facilities.

The restrictions are in effect for the following locations:

  • Mercy Hospital Springfield
  • Mercy Kids Children’s Hospital
  • Mercy Heart Hospital Springfield
  • Mercy Orthopedic Hospital Springfield
  • Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield
  • Mercy Hospital Aurora
  • Mercy Hospital Cassville
  • Mercy Hospital Lebanon
  • Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Mo

These are the changes being made in order to help protect patients, the community and employees of Mercy hospitals:

  • Mercy patients are limited to one visitor per day, but the hospital says exceptions can be made for those nearing end-of-life or when a visitor is essential for the patient’s emotional well-being and care
  • Only parents are allowed in the neonatal intensive care units and for mother/baby and pediatric patients, visitors are limited to a designated partner or primary caretaker/guardian (only one at a time)
  • No one under the age of 18 is allowed in hospitals or clinics unless they are seeking medical treatment
  • In-Person prenatal classes are canceled
  • At Mercy Hospital Springfield, all visitors should use the main south entrance. Patients can access valet parking at the Heart Hospital (west) entrance
  • All emergency room patients should follow the signs and use the north entrance of the hospital
  • All patients with Coronavirus symptoms have a separate waiting and treatment area

Mercy is offering a virtual “e-visit” through MyMercy for those who have symptoms of COVID-19 and adjusting ER protocol during the pandemic.

If you have more severe symptoms and suspect you have the virus, call 417-820-2115 while you’re on your way to the ER at Mercy Hospital Springfield so they can be prepared to greet you at the door.
