Local Colleges Adjusting To Coronavirus Concerns

Several colleges in the Ozarks are making changes with the threat of Coronavirus, including Missouri State canceling classes for today.

Missouri State:

  1. Classes canceled for March 13, 2020.
  2. The university says on their website, they are working on a plan for online classes.
  3. Students have been encouraged to take their books and laptops with them.
  4. Limited number of laptops can be checked out at Meyer Library for those without access.
  5. Campus is open

Drury:

  1. Spring break has been extended an additional week.
  2. Classes resume on March 30, 2020, according to an e-mail from Drury President J. Timothy Cloyd.
  3. Campus is open.

OTC:

  1. March 13, 2020 classes canceled.
  2. Spring break extended one week; classes resume on March 30, 2020.
  3. Classes that can be taught in an online format will resume online March 30.
  4. Students are encouraged to take their things home with them.
  5. Campus is open

College of the Ozarks:

  1. Spring break extended until March 27, 2020.
  2. Online classes scheduled to begin March 30, 2020.
  3. Keeter Center closed at 2 p.m. on March 13, 2020.
  4. School of the Ozarks, a laboratory school, has canceled class until further notice beginning March 16, 2020.
  5. Campus is closed starting Saturday, March 14, 2020 to visitors, including the Admissions Office

Evangel:

  1. Spring break extended an additional week.
  2. Suspended spring break travel and athletics.
  3. Students encouraged to take books and essentials home with them.
  4. Adult online, graduate and seminary classes will resume on March 23, 2020 unless noted.
  5. Campus undergrads and James River College classes will resume Monday, March 30, 2020.
  6. Campus business offices, along with open, however, campus activities during Spring Break will be canceled.

Southwest Baptist University

  1. Course facilitation the week of March 23-27 will move online
  2. Students encouraged to take essentials for classwork.
  3. Offices on all campuses will be closed from March 16 through March 20, 2020.
  4.  Internal campus events are cancelled through March 29.
  5. All employees and students will be required to complete a Spring Break Travel Log before returning to campus.
