A remodeling project took quite the turn Friday night at a Springfield home that’s up for sale.
Neighbors reported seeing crime scene investigators at a home in the 800 block of West Portland.
It turns out, authorities are investigating possible human remains that were found during the home renovation project.
Neighbors say they haven’t seen the home occupied in over 20 years.
The owner of the property told police the house had been empty for nearly 30 years.
The investigation is ongoing, remains have been sent to a forensics lab for testing.
