Two high school students are dead and four others are injured after a truck rammed into them during cross-country practice in Oklahoma.
Authorities say the driver was traveling at nearly 70 MPH in a school zone when he struck a vehicle before veering toward the cross-country athletes who were running in front of Moore High School.
A witness followed the suspect and detained him until police could respond to the scene.
The driver was identified as 57 year-old, Max Leroy Townsend.
Prosecutors say he stayed up drinking after his son was killed in a traffic crash the day before.
Townsend has been charged with two counts of first-degree manslaughter, 2 counts of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, 4 counts of driving under the influence and 5 counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
Bail was set at $1 million.
