Two Dead After Car Hits House, Alcohol Could Be To Blame

Springfield Police say preliminary tests show alcohol played a role in this morning’s deadly crash in the 2200-block of South Florence near National and Seminole.

20-year-old Caleb Brown and 21-year-old Mason Ivey, both from Lebanon, died when their car hit a house around 1 a.m.

There were people inside the home but nobody was hurt.

Original Story:

Police are investigating a deadly crash on Seminole west of National in Springfield where a car slammed into a home, killing two people in the vehicle.

Traffic on Seminole was shut down between National and Florence through 7 a.m. as police investigated the crash.

A witness says the car ran a flashing red light on National just before the driver lost control of the vehicle.

One of the people in the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at a hospital a short time later.

There were two people in the home, but neither are injured.
