The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a pedestrian crash on I-44 near Strafford Monday evening.
Troopers say 37-year-old Gerald Schroeder of Nixa was taken to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries.
The crash happened along Evergreen Road and Dew Drop Lane just east of the city limits.
The patrol says Schroeder was hit while walking on Evergreen Road.
