REMINDER: Deadline Approaching For Property And Real Estate Taxes

The Greene County Collector is reminding residents about deadlines and payment information related to property taxes for 2019. Most property and real estate tax bills were mailed in October. Payments are due by December 31.

“If you didn’t receive a statement, we ask that you don’t wait to contact us. Seek out that statement now to avoid any late fees,” Greene County Collector Leah Betts says. “As always, we are here to help and always ready to assist with any questions or issues.”

The Collector’s Office also offers the following helpful tips for the process:

  • If you didn’t get a bill or misplaced your bill, visit www.countycollector.com and print one from there. If you are unable to locate it online, call 868-4036.
  • Payments must be postmarked by the U.S. Post Office or made via the website on or before December 31.
  • To save taxpayer dollars, as many matching statements as possible were mailed in the same envelopes. For example, personal property and real estate statements may be in the same envelope. (Double check your mail to make sure that you have all the correspondence that was intended for you – documents can sometimes stick together like two new dollar bills.)
  • The best way to pay is online. No stamp, no lines and no waiting for a receipt to arrive in the mail. Simply visit www.countycollector.com
