The Missouri House Minority Caucus leader has released a letter addressed to Missouri Governor Mike Parson.
Representative Crystal Quade says that Governor Mike Parson should not use the Governor’s powers to call a special session at his “whim” and should cancel the special session.
Quade says that there are better uses of an extraordinary session than to create a “legal loophole” for those who buy a new car and sold more than one old one to get tax breaks.
She says that Parson did not allow a special session on August 26th to address gun crime in St. Louis. She says that the legislature could address the health needs of 100,000 Missouri children and 30,000 adults instead of tax code minutia.
