Springfield Fire Crews Rescue Man From 20 Foot Fall In Doling Park

Technical rescue crews with the Springfield Fire Department helped a man who had fallen 20 feet in Doling Park.

The technical rescue were called to help get the man from a concrete structure.

The rescue team used a rope hauling system and basket to pull the man to safety.

TECHNICAL RESCUE AT DOLING PARK

This evening Springfield, MO Fire Department was dispatched to Doling Park for what was initially a routine call. When they arrived, they found that a man had fallen into a concrete structure, and was trapped.

The crew of Engine 2 reported that the man was trapped in a confined area, and requested a rescue response. Truck 2, Rescue 1, Engine 1, and Battalion 1 responded in the upgraded assignment. Mercy EMS was also on scene.

Firefighters utilized a rope system hooked to a stokes basket to haul the patient up and out of the concrete structure, then back down to the ground. He was transported to the waiting ambulance where he received medical treatment from Paramedics.
