A man from Springfield has pleaded guilty in federal court today to a bank fraud scheme to fraud and attempt to cash stolen and counterfeit checks.
Robert Simon Rees, 39, pleaded guilty and admitted to attempting to steal around 20 thousand dollars. Rees must pay restitution to the victims.
Official reports say that Rees stole checks, letters, and documents from mailboxes and then forged documents to use at businesses like Wal-mart and Lend Nation.
