Voters Decide On Walnut Grove School Tax Levy Tuesday

Voters in the Walnut Grove school district will decide today whether to raise their property tax levy by $1.07 today.

It’s the only issue on the Greene County special elections ballot for August 6th.

Schools officials say the money would go towards building new classrooms, adding a FEMA storm shelter, creating a more secure entrance and building a new circle driveway in front of the school.

The district says homeowners would pay an average of $203.30 a year for a home valued at $100,000.

Voting hours will be from 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. To take a look at the sample ballot, click here.
