Over 500 Customers Temporarily Out Of Power In Nixa

Over 500 customers were out of power this morning in Nixa.

A spokesman with the city says Nixa Utilities was making repairs and placing a new power pole that was hit by a car along Highway 14 between Gregg Road and Nicholas Road.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Crews were able to restore the power much faster than expected and will replace the damaged utility pole on Monday.

Nixa Utilities electric crews were able to find a way to restore power much faster than expected, and will replace the damaged utility pole on Monday.

Over 500 Nixa Utilities electric customers in west Nixa will be without power for 3-4 hours as crews work to make repairs and place a new power pole.

At 7:09AM this morning, Nixa Police were dispatched to a crash in which a driver crashed through a power pole along highway 14 between Gregg Road and Nicholas Road.

No injuries have been reported at this time. The vehicle left the scene but Nixa Police now have one person in custody.

The crash instantly caused the outage to several hundred customers, and Nixa Electric crews are working as fast as possible to restore electric service to all affected customers.
