The Springfield Fire Department began implementing a new system that will track compliance of the annual testing of fire protection systems.

And Project RED ZONE is continuing with being sure homes are equipped with life-saving devices.

During that time crews completed neighborhood canvasses in the Doling, Bissett, Midtown, and Weller neighborhoods.

The Operations section is proud to announce the following promotions: Battalion Fire Chief Kelly Cardin was promoted to Division Fire Chief; Lieutenants Chris Gardner and Benjamin Wahl were promoted to Captain; Rescue Specialists Joshua Johnson and Luke Proffitt and Equipment Operator Jason Wells were promoted to Lieutenant; Firefighters Tony Fields, Joel Grieshaber and Adam Mariage were promoted to Rescue Specialist, and Firefighter Scott Guccione was promoted to Equipment Operator. Each promotion brings more responsibility to each member who will no doubt serve the citizens of Springfield with distinction.
