A two year old child is going to be okay after being left alone inside a hot vehicle on the lot of the Flying J Truck Stop just west of Springfield Sunday.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the 4900 block of west Chestnut Expressway just after 7:30 Sunday evening.
They were able to get into the vehicle and remove the child, who was sweating profusely.
The vehicle was not running.
The mother of the youngster was found inside the store and taken into custody for endangering the welfare of a child, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The child was treated by medics at the scene and released to the Children’s Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services.
