A project to rebuild Highway 65 in Springfield is starting up again August 4th.
The first part of the final phase will close southbound Highway 65 from Sunshine to Battlefield.
A couple detours will be in place along I-44 and Highway 60.
MoDOT says to expect major traffic delays over the next couple months and is asking drivers to starting thinking now about how they plan to get around the construction.
MoDOT says Highway 65 carries about 70-thousand cars a day through Springfield.

- Deploying electronic message signs in various locations throughout Springfield metro area
Prime Contractor: Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. of Columbia
Completion Date: November 2019 (However, contractor plans to complete project by late September.)
Total Project Cost: $8.1 million
