A man from Branson is in the Taney County jail after trying to escape deputies by jumping into Bull Shoals Lake.
Authorities say the man was caught by homeowners after he walked into their house off Highway Y.
He drove off from the scene, but was stopped by a trooper on the Highway 76 bridge over Bull Shoals Lake.
Trying not to get caught, the man abandoned the car and jumped in the water.
KOLR10 News reports he was later arrested when deputies found him holding onto the roof of a pavilion at Shadow Rock Park.
