Community Input Meetings Scheduled In Search Of New City Utilities General Manager

The Board of Public Utilities and the General Manager Search Committee, today scheduled two meetings to gain insight from the public on what attributes, skills, and qualifications the public would like to see from the next General Manager of City Utilities.

The meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Monday, July 22, 5 – 7 p.m. at Springfield Fire Station – 8 Community Room. 1405 S. Scenic.
  • Thursday, August 8, 5 – 7 p.m. at Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Community Room, located at 2214 S. Brentwood.

“These informal input meetings will provide the public, our customers, the opportunity to visit with several members of the Board of Public Utilities, and CU staff, as we move forward with the search process,” says Joe Reynolds, Chair – Board of Public Utilities.

City Utilities say a survey will also be available at the meetings that can be filled out electronically. It will also be available on the CU website at www.cityutilities.net.

In June, Scott Miller announced his retirement during December of this year after serving as General Manger since 2011. The search for his successor will be done on a local and national level by the General Manager Search Committee, comprised of the Executive Committee of the CU Board, and City Utilities Human Resources.
